About the Property Inspection Profession
It may surprise you to know that California requires no state licensing for property inspectors.
However, home inspectors are governed by a hierarchy of codes and regulations.
The most general being state and federal codes, both criminal and civil, which apply to the general population.
Next, The California Business and Professions Code, Sections 7195 to 7199 define home inspector and itemizes their duties. Further,
the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) Standards of Practice adds another layer, specifying what is included
and excluded in an inspection. CREIA has positioned itself as the state's leading consumer advocacy group regarding home inspections
and it is their standards of practice to which Beachside Property Inspections adheres. I highly recommend that you visit both the
CREIA and ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) web sites for further information on the inspection industry and call
Beachside Property Inspections if you have any questions regarding your pending purchase or current property.
